Jacqui Hing Hudson

Jacqui completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours in Ceramics at the National Art School (NAS). She is an award-winning ceramicist and has exhibited her work at Stella Downer Fine Arts Gallery and Sabbia Gallery. Jacqui’s ceramics are sculptural in form, delicate, and made from porcelain and glazes.

“Jacqui’s still-life sculptures speak of the built environment and deal with gravity in a playful whimsical way, resulting in highly resolved and elegant forms that entrance the viewer.”

Hudson’s ceramic assemblages seduce the spectator with the allure of their thick, creamy glazes. Meticulously arranged architectural structures are built from corrugated circular slabs and egg like shapes performing balancing acts. The visual tension and counterpoise of these simple forms generate a precarious kinetic energy as cracked shells and rolling forms teeter towards the edge of slab constructions.”
